Currently accepting applications for volunteers
Volunteer opportunities include the following roles:
Oak City Soccer provides soccer instruction to children on the autism spectrum or with sensory processing differences. We typically need 4-8 volunteers per 1 hour class consisting of head coaches, assistant coaches, and buddies. Volunteers help our athletes stay on task, navigate drills, model basic skills, encourage sportsmanship, and facilitate social interactions.
Buddies are asked to commit 1-2 hours each Sunday for the entirety of a 6 week season and complete the following duties:
- Stay with an individual player for the entirety of their 1 hour class
- Guide the player through drills
- Encourage the player as they complete a drill or assist when needed
- Watch out for players safety during any down time in between drills
Volunteers can sign up individually as a buddy for any class available on the drop down menu below. If you'd like to participate in more than one class time or day, please indicate in the comments section to avoid having to fill out the form multiple times.
If you are interested in volunteering as a group please email the volunteer coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange specific number of volunteers needed and reserve dates and times.
